Applying to MSGME
Any candidate interested in a residency or fellowship at Mayo Clinic must submit a completed application. Candidates may apply to one program at a time. You may, however, apply to the same program, if offered, at more than one Mayo Clinic campus. Most MSGME programs accept applications through:
- Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS)
- San Francisco Matching Program (SFMatch)
- Apply Yourself
The application process you should use, as well as the application instructions and deadlines for each MSGME program are included in the program’s “Application Process” section.
Step 1: Carefully review the following MSGME policies as applicable:
Step 2: Complete your application using appropriate application service (ERAS, SF Match, Apply Yourself, etc.)
Step 3: Submit your application, materials required for all MSGME applications, and any additional supporting materials. (See the instructions provided by the appropriate application service as indicated for the program to which you are applying).
PLEASE NOTE: You may apply to only one categorical residency or fellowship program. However, you may apply to the same categorical residency or fellowship program at more than one Mayo Clinic campus. For example, you may apply to the Hematology/Oncology Fellowship at Mayo Clinic Rochester and the Hematology/Oncology Fellowship at Mayo Clinic Florida.
Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS)

MSGME appointments to these programs are made as a result of the NRMP Main Residency Match or the NRMP Specialty Matches. San Francisco Matching Program (SFMatch)

Apply Yourself
Apply Yourself, MSGME’s third-party online application service, is utilized by some MSGME residency and fellowship programs. To use this application service, you will need certain materials, either stored on your personal computer or scanned into a file.
