MSGME ONLINE APPLICATION PROCESS

MSGME uses a third-party online application service to process certain program applications (this does not pertain to programs using other electronic application systems, such as ERAS).

Applying to MSGME
MSGME uses a third-party application service – Apply Yourself - to process applications to all other residencies and fellowships (those not listed above under ERAS or SFMatch), including Dental specialties.

To use this application service, you will need certain materials, either stored on your personal computer or scanned into a file.

Materials You Will Need to Apply to MSGME
The following materials will be required as supporting documentation to your MSGME application – whether you apply through ERAS, SFMatch or the Apply Yourself service.

All applications to MSGME must include:

  • Completed online application.
  • Curriculum vitae. Describe your activities with professional societies, publications, and any other relevant information about your education or experience.
  • Personal statement of professional goals.
  • Copy of graduate school and or medical/dental school diploma.

Postdoctoral fellowship applications should also include:

  • Official transcripts. Upload a scanned copy of official transcripts from each graduate school, and/or medical school you attended. Provide certified or notarized English translations of documents written in a language other than English.
  • Three letters of recommendation from faculty members, including your thesis advisor, who are thoroughly familiar with your work. Each letter should include the writer’s opinion of your professional, academic, and personal qualifications, as well as his/her opinion on your potential for success in the field for which you are applying.

Other residency and fellowship program applications should also include:

  • Dean’s letter. Ask your medical/dental school to send a letter directly to MSGME.
  • Official transcripts. Upload a scanned copy of official transcripts from each graduate school, dental school, and/or medical school you attended. Provide certified or notarized English translations of documents written in a language other than English.
  • Official test transcripts for all applicable examinations (USMLE, LMCC, COMLEX, NBOME, FMGEMS, FLEX, or NBME).
  • Valid ECFMG certificate. Required if you graduated from a medical school outside the United States or Canada.
  • Three original letters of recommendation, as specified in your program description, from physicians or faculty members who are thoroughly familiar with your work. If you have had prior residency training, ask your program director for a letter of recommendation. Each letter should include the writer’s opinion of your professional, academic, and personal qualifications, as well as his/her opinion of your potential success in the field for which you are applying.
