For a nominal fee, students and trainees at Mayo Clinic and their spouses may join the Dan Abraham Healthy Living Center. The fitness center has two campus locations that offer personal exercise consultation and a variety of training programs.
Leisure and Lifestyle Activities Program
Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science students, trainees and their families may join Mayo staff in enjoying the social, recreational, cultural and educational activities sponsored by Mayo's Leisure and Lifestyle Activities Program. These events include concerts, plays, sporting events, classes, trips, parties and dances.
Discount rates are available for the Minnesota Zoo, Science Museum of Minnesota, Minnesota Children's Museum, amusement centers, hotels and motels. Discounts are also offered for local movie theaters, car washes and transportation to the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport.
Mayo Families' Connection
Mayo Families' Connection assists spouses and significant others of Mayo students, residents and trainees in transitioning to Mayo Clinic. It holds events and programs and has a variety of interest groups. On its website, you'll find information about housing, schools, child care, higher education and community activities.
Many student associations are active at Mayo Clinic. These vary by Mayo school and program.
Affectionately referred to as "prom," the Unity Ball is an annual event for students from all of Mayo's education programs in Rochester, Minnesota. Students of all years and their guests are invited to enjoy an evening of hors d'oeuvres, beverages and live music.
