Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences admits up to 15 students to its Phlebotomy Technician Certificate Program every 12 weeks. For those receiving scholarships who successfully complete the program and are hired to a Mayo Clinic phlebotomy technician position, a two-year commitment in that position is required.
Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences offers a 10-week Phlebotomy Technician Certificate Program in Rochester, Minnesota. Phlebotomy technicians work with other professionals in hospital and outpatient environments to collect and prepare blood samples for laboratory testing as part of a patient's total care team. The Phlebotomy Technician Certificate Program thoroughly prepares individuals for a career in this field.

Students are admitted at various times throughout the year for each of the scheduled 10-week program classes. The selection committee carefully reviews each application and the accompanying documentation. Individuals considered for an appointment are interviewed.
The Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences Phlebotomy Technician Certificate Program is approved by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS).

Graduation and certification
Upon successful completion of the Phlebotomy Technician Certificate Program, the student will receive a certificate of completion from Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences.
Note: This certificate is a course certificate and is not part of qualification as a nationally certified phlebotomist. A separate examination is taken to achieve that status.
A blended learning schedule (combination of online and classroom) is variable for the entire 10 weeks of the program.
