There is one two-year position available on a competitive basis each year in the Retinal and Vitreous Surgery Fellowship.
How to apply
You must apply through the SF Match Residency and Fellowship Matching Services.
The application and all supporting documentation must be submitted by the end of August (refer to the SF Match website for the specific date) of the year preceding the appointment date. The academic year begins in July.
- To apply to the program, complete the fellowship match registration with the SF Match Residency and Fellowship Matching Services.
- Complete the SF Match application.
In addition to the standard application materials required by SF Match, all applications to Mayo Clinic School of Graduate Medical Education programs must include these application materials.

Applicants considered for an appointment will be invited to visit Mayo Clinic for a personal interview with the program director and selected faculty. Interviews are conducted approximately eight months in advance of the appointment.
During the interview, the applicant has an opportunity to meet residents and postgraduate fellows, the Mayo faculty physicians of the retina and vitreous service, and other staff members who are intimately involved in the training of the postgraduate retina fellow.
