There are two positions available each year in Mayo Clinic's Child and Adolescent Neurology Residency. Both positions are integrated with the Mayo Clinic Pediatrics Residency Program.
How to apply
Appointments to the Child and Adolescent Neurology Residency are made through the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) using the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS).
To apply, contact the match service and submit:
- Official college, graduate school and medical school transcripts
- Official test transcripts for all applicable examinations (USMLE, LMCC, COMLEX, NBOME, FMGEMS, FLEX or NBME)
- A dean's letter and three other letters of recommendation
- A curriculum vitae
- A personal statement
- A valid ECFMG certificate (if you graduated from medical school outside of the U.S. or Canada)
Applications for each academic year, which begins in late June or early July, should be completed at least 12 months before the date you wish to start the program. Therefore, you need to complete the application process by January, 18 months before you begin your PGY-2 year. Interviews are conducted throughout the year.
If you are considered for a residency appointment, you will be asked to visit Mayo Clinic in Rochester for an interview with the program directors and selected faculty. Most interviews are conducted from October through December each year.
Please note that if you have failed the USMLE examination three times, you are not appointable to Mayo Clinic School of Graduate Medical Education.
