Director's Welcome

Erika D. Driver-Dunckley, M.D.

Welcome to Mayo Clinic's Adult Neurology Residency in Arizona. This residency program is unique because in addition to the resources and expertise available to you throughout your training, you can also take advantage of a wealth of knowledge and opportunities at Mayo Clinic's other locations in Florida and Minnesota. Ours is a three-site integrated curriculum that shares resources, state-of-the-art facilities and the option of subspecialty rotations at each location.

Mayo Clinic's three shields serve as the foundation for our program. These shields represent not just ideals, but reality. The top shield symbolizes patient care, which always comes first and is inextricably linked to the other two shields: education and research.

No matter how subspecialized you may become as a resident in our program, you will be trained as an excellent general neurologist, first and foremost. Fortunately, Mayo Clinic also is big enough, diverse enough, and has the depth of expertise to teach you to be an academic leader and researcher as well.

The keys to our program's success are the three Cs — collaboration, cooperation and communication. Education is a priority here, and every faculty member in neurology is committed to the program and to the residents. Whether you choose to enter a clinical practice, an academic setting, or focus your career on research, our Adult Neurology Residency will prepare you well.
