The Department of Dermatology facilities include a large clinic area with a surgical suite and laser room, a resident workroom and library, medical photographers, and a dermatopathology room with a multiheaded teaching microscope.
Our staff dermatologists evaluate and manage patients requiring medical and surgical care. They offer expertise in dermatopathology and Mohs micrographic surgery as well as in evaluating many dermatologic conditions, including cutaneous lymphomas, melanoma and nonmelanoma skin cancers, atopic dermatitis, contact dermatitis, psoriasis, and other inflammatory and autoimmune dermatoses.
In addition to caring for patients in their clinical practices, Mayo Clinic faculty members are committed to teaching and facilitating the growth of medical knowledge. Many of our faculty have published and lectured extensively and are well-regarded in their fields. You have direct access to these individuals throughout the Dermatology Residency.
Many prominent professors visit Mayo Clinic each year. They present their work during lectures, including teleconferences to Mayo Clinic's campuses in Rochester, Minnesota, and Phoenix/Scottsdale, Arizona. You are encouraged to take full advantage of these opportunities.
