Mayo Clinic's three-year Periodontics Residency is designed for dentists who are interested in a career in clinical periodontics. During the program, you learn how to effectively diagnose and treat oral mucous membrane diseases, critically review and analyze pertinent scientific literature, and organize and conduct research projects.
The Periodontics Residency fulfills the requirements for training as stated by Commission on Dental Accreditation of the American Dental Association.
You will be eligible to take the American Board of Periodontology certifying examination upon completion of the residency.
The Periodontics Residency began in 1966, and since that time, more than 30 dentists have completed training. It is anticipated that one resident will complete training in this program annually.
