Senior medical students can apply for a three- or four-year Anesthesiology Residency position at Mayo Clinic through the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP).

The four-year program includes PGY-1 training in internal medicine. Transitional year programs are available at Mayo Clinic's campuses in Jacksonville, Florida, and Phoenix/Scottsdale, Arizona, for applicants who wish to train at these sites. Three-year programs also are available for residents who wish to complete their PGY-1 training at another accredited academic center.

In addition, medical school graduates who are currently in a nonanesthesia training program may apply for a residency position. These appointments are also made through NRMP.
