There are four positions available on a competitive basis each year in the Anesthesiology Residency at Mayo Clinic's campus in Jacksonville, Florida.
How to apply
You must apply through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). This can be done through your medical school dean's office.
The application form and all supporting documentation must be submitted by Nov. 1 of the year preceding the appointment date. The academic year begins in July.
To apply to the program, visit the ERAS website. All applications to Mayo Clinic School of Graduate Medical Education programs must include these application materials.
All appointments are made through the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP). Candidates must register through the NRMP website. No appointments are made outside the NRMP.
Matching to the specialty program includes the one-year Internal Medicine Preliminary Residency (PGY-1) that is only available for trainees who complete all of their residency training at Mayo Clinic's campus in Florida. The goal of the one-year Internal Medicine Preliminary Residency is to provide a solid foundation for further training in anesthesiology, dermatology, neurology, radiation oncology and radiology advanced programs.
The preliminary year program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), and residents are included within the ACGME complement of the first year of the Internal Medicine Residency.
Applicants considered for an appointment will be invited to visit Mayo Clinic for a personal interview with the program director and selected faculty. Interviews are conducted between October and January each year. See a sample interview itinerary.
