Education Center

The Mayo Clinic Education Center at Mayo Clinic's campus in Phoenix, Arizona, creates an ideal environment for medical learners to participate in training about the most up-to-date techniques and biomedical advances. The Mayo Clinic Education Center is located directly adjacent to Mayo Clinic Hospital in Phoenix, just west of the main hospital entrance.

The facility serves all types of learners, including nurses, residents and fellows, and physicians. It also offers a forum for community education and outreach. The Mayo Clinic Education Center includes the 330-seat Juanita Kious Waugh Auditorium, adaptable to classroom or dining seating. Adjacent meeting rooms provide space for breakout discussions. The newly expanded medical library sits next to the Mayo Clinic Education Center.

State-of-the-art audiovisual technology includes a high-definition videoconferencing system that links the center to any similarly equipped hospital in the world. Drop-down screens and remote-controlled cameras enhance visual access for all learners. Ultrasensitive sound equipment permits learners to study heart sounds, as well as subtle noises in electroencephalogram (EEG) and electromyography (EMG).

Mayo Clinic School of Continuous Professional Development provides continuing medical education courses to health care providers in the local community, as well as regional and national audiences. The Mayo Clinic Education Center augments a century-old tradition of Mayo Clinic medical education, which enhances patient safety and promotes the highest quality patient care.
