Accommodations for Disabled Learners
The College of Medicine, Mayo Clinic actively solicits applications from students representing the breath and depth of diversity that is prevalent in our patient base and in the communities that we serve. A prospective student with a disability is encouraged to contact staff in the Office for Diversity to discuss any matters related to his or her abilities. Additionally, students with disabilities are welcomed and encouraged to visit the College of Medicine's Office for Diversity when considering applying, upon acceptance and prematriculation, and while a student in any program or school.
All programs and schools within the College of Medicine, Mayo Clinic welcome applications from students with disabilities. It is Mayo Clinic's policy to take all reasonable steps to minimize the impact of disability upon a learner's academic pursuits. Appropriate adjustments will be made to enhance the participation and overall educational experience of disabled students.
Office for Diversity staff welcome the opportunity to assist students in obtaining information on potential accommodations and resources that might aid the student to meet all of their program requirements and achieve academic success. Staff work to provide a support network for students and connect them to the vast clinical and educational resources available at Mayo Clinic to support their individual needs. A designated College of Medicine disability officer is available to discuss specific disability accommodations when a student seeks this assistance.
