2012 Pilot Project Awards

The Office of Health Disparities Research (OHDR) has announced the inaugural round of Pilot Project award recipients, who facilitate research with the intention of leading to extramural funding in health disparities research.

Congratulations to the 2012 Pilot Project Awardees:

  • Young Juhn, M.D. "Application of Housing-based Socioeconomic Measure in Health Disparities Research in Olmsted County, Minn."
  • Alex Parker, Ph.D. "Evaluation of Vitamin D Insufficiency (Hypovitaminosis D) in African Americans Living in a Metropolitan Southern Community"
  • Onelis Quirindongo-Cedeno, M.D. "Clinic Orientation to Reduce Health Disparities in Primary Care: A Pilot Study"
  • Irene Sia, M.D. "A Formative Study of Wellness Programming at Boys and Girls Club Rochester"

The OHDR was formed by the Center for Translational Science Activities (CTSA) Research Committee in 2011 to facilitate research regarding the causes and remediation of health status disparities.
