Annual KL2 National Meeting

You are expected to attend the annual meeting of the National KL2 Program and participate in conference activities. This is incorporated into the joint annual meeting of the Association for Clinical Research Training and the Society for Clinical and Translational Science. The meeting is typically held in April each year. Travel expenses are covered by the grant. More information is on the Association for Clinical Research Training website.

Midwest Consortium annual meeting

The education components of several other CTSAs and KL2 programs have joined together to create the Midwest Consortium. The Midwest Consortium consists of the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences Roadmap K12 and the CTSA KL2 Clinical Research Career Development programs, as well as Institutional Development Award (IDeA)-funded institutions.

You are expected to attend the annual meeting of the Midwest Consortium and participate in conference activities. The meeting is typically held each summer. Travel expenses are covered by the grant.

Grant application submission

One marker of your success in the KL2 Program is your ability to obtain extramural grant funding to support your research career. The CTSA Postdoctoral Programs Committee requires that you prepare and submit a grant application to a peer-reviewed funding source at some point during or immediately after your participation in the KL2 Program. Grant applications to intramural funding opportunities also are encouraged during this time.

Outcomes reporting

Upon completion of the KL2 Program, you will be asked to submit a current National Institutes of Health (NIH) biosketch, which documents your current publications, grant support, academic rank and other accomplishments. As a KL2 Program graduate, you will be surveyed annually in order to update this outcomes information so that it can be reported to NIH.
