Prepare Your Computer

Before classes begin, prepare your computer to access Blackboard and all course content by:

Updating Java. Blackboard requires the latest version of Java in order to view all content for CTSA courses. Update Java.
Checking your browser. For Blackboard 9.1 to function properly, you must be using a compatible operating system and Web browser. Check browser compatibility.
Requesting virtual private network (VPN) access. You must be on campus or connected by VPN to have full access to all content for CTSA courses. Request VPN access (must be logged in to the Mayo network).

Also, note that:

Electronic environment devices (EEDs) are not fully functional with Blackboard features. Please use another computer in your office or at home, or use the computer labs located in several Mayo Clinic libraries.
Your computer must have a sound card, as most of the courses include audio and video.
