Program Evaluation

The Education Resources component of the Mayo Clinic Center for Translational Science Activities (CTSA) has developed a comprehensive system for evaluating its postdoctoral, predoctoral, clinical research coordination and professional development programs.

Central to this evaluation system are core competencies, which were determined by CTSA leadership before educational program content was identified and designed. Today, these core competencies serve as the "guiding light" for all decisions related to program content.

When core competencies are evaluated, the extent to which they're addressed by the CTSA's educational opportunities is assessed, with the results contributing to decisions about what courses or workshops should be added or eliminated.
