Education and Training

The Office for Community-Engaged Research (OCER) presents information about health disparity issues and the need for inclusion of underrepresented groups in research to Mayo investigators, study coordinators, residents and students.

OCER staff is able to provide information and education on demographics, National Institutes of Health policies, targeted enrollment tables, reporting formats for minority recruitment. They can also provide information on community cultural context.

Further, OCER works in concert with CTSA Education Resources to build capacity among investigators in the following areas:

  • Community engagement
  • Cultural sensitivity
  • Community-engaged research methods
  • Health disparities research
  • Comparative effectiveness research
