Visiting Faculty Program

Mayo Clinic offers customized educational experiences for visiting clinicians that are not available through conventional CME courses or formal graduate education programs. Through the Visiting Clinician Program, Mayo Clinic hosts nearly 200 physicians each year from around the world, making it one of the largest and most successful of its kind.

Mayo specifically focuses training in subspecialties that will provide the best experiences, enabling the visitor to return home with knowledge and skills that can be directly applied to their practice.

The Visiting Clinician Program is designed for practicing physicians or clinical scientists seeking a customizable format to increase knowledge and skills. Each experience is tailored to the individual's continuing education and career goals.

As a Visiting Clinician you will:

  • Experience how Mayo's primary value, “the needs of the patient come first,” is lived out with every patient every day through the Mayo Clinic Model of Care.
  • Work closely with a Mayo physician host who helps you design an itinerary that reflects your educational goals.
  • Receive assistance from Mayo with visa applications and information on housing and accommodations.
