Social Media Residency

The Mayo Clinic Center for Social Media provides in-depth training in social media strategy, planning and execution through our two-day Social Media Residency. The Social Media Residency provides training for Mayo Clinic employees, but is open to others on a first-come, first-served basis. Upon completion of the course, participants should be able to: apply social media (Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, blogging) best practices utilized at Mayo Clinic in their organizations; select which social media tools are most appropriate for their goals; identify components of an appropriate social media strategy; explain how social media tools can help improve their organizations; recognize ways that social media can help improve patient and employee communications; analyze ways that social media can improve patient and provider education; and demonstrate how to shoot, edit and upload videos with a pocket camcorder, smartphone or other video camera.
