Advanced Radiology Life Support Course - DVD

The Advanced Radiology Life Support (ARLS) Course is designed to focus on the unqiue, life-threatening emergencies that occure within a radiology department. It is designed to teach prompt recognition and treatment of contrast reactions. The ARLS course will discuss managmeent of the sedated patient, the proper management of an airway in an emergency situation and percutaneous interventions. Advanced Radiology Life Support Course
January 1 - December 30, 2008

The Advanced Radiology Life Support Course (ARLS) is designed to focus on the unique, life-threatening emergencies that occur within a radiology department. It is designed to teach prompt recognition and treatment of contrast reactions, management of the sedated patient, the proper management of an airway in an emergency situation, and basic concepts of advanced life support. This course will offer Basic Life Support (BLS) recertification and is fashioned after the Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) course that has been successful in teaching physicians, nurses, and allied health personnel patient management during cardiac arrest. Hands-on clinical stations as well as didactic instructions will be used. Advanced Radiology Life Support (ARLS) including Basic Life Support (BLS) recertification and sedation training will be offered in a single day format on Saturday, January 22, 2005. The ARLS, sedation, and BLS training materials included in this course were used to train physicians, nurses, and allied health personnel at the Mayo Clinic prior to a JCAHO site visit. This training program may help to prepare your department for a similar evaluation.

Current Topics in Noninvasive Cardiovascular Imaging
June 22 - 27, 2008

This course will provide radiologists, cardiologists, vascular and cardiovascular surgeons and other health care providers a state-of-the art review of current and emerging trends in cardiovascular imaging. If you're hoping to learn more about the recent explosion in noninvasive cardiovascular imaging and how you can take advantage of the latest technological advances in CT and MRI, this course is for you. The intensive six-day curriculum blends didactic lectures by internationally-renowned faculty, case presentations by trained experts, technologist education, roundtable discussion open to all participants, and one-on-one experience with workstation from multiple vendors to deliver a state-of-the-art review of cardiac and vascular CT and MRI. Partial program registration is available for attendees wishing to focus on a particular aspect of cardiovascular imaging. The program includes 50 mentored cardiac CT cases and 50 mentored cardiac MR cases, all of which will be made available to attendees for hands-on post processing to facilitate head-to-head user comparison of multiple different workstations. In between lectures, relax and unwind at one of Southern California's premier luxury spa resorts or play golf at Torrey Pines, site of the 2008 Buick Invitational and the 2008 US Open golf tournament.

This course will also offer self assessment modules for recertification purposes required by the American Board of Radiology.
