Learning Objectives

Upon conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:

  • Identify key issues in MRI safety, including implanted devices and gadolinium-associated nephrogenic systemic fibrosis (NSF)
  • Explain how advanced imaging techniques may be utilized in the management of acute stroke
  • Recognize common diseases of the skull base, neck, orbit, and temporal bone
  • Summarize the added value FDG PET/CT can bring to detection of disease recurrence in head and neck cancer
  • Discuss the role of non-invasive imaging in evaluating intracranial aneurysms and vascular dissections
  • Recognize common inflammatory patterns and neoplasms of the sinuses and nasal cavities
  • Discuss advanced MRI techniques in the evaluation of brain tumors
  • Recognize the imaging manifestations and differential diagnosis of paraneoplastic syndromes
  • Demonstrate MRI and CT features of neoplastic, inflammatory, traumatic, and degenerative disease of the spine
  • Establish a framework for the approach of pediatric metabolic brain disorders
  • Describe the spectrum of overlapping, often multiple types of congenital brain anomalies
