T. Denny Sanford Pediatric Symposium 2010

We have designed this course for primary care clinicians in the region including primary care pediatricians, family physicians, physician-associates, nurse practitioners who care for children or adolescents in primary care settings including acute care facilities. Topics were generated from gap analyses of knowledge, skills, practice, and outcomes, and they concern developmental screening, neonatal jaundice, developmental delay, adrenal disorders, otitis media, failure to thrive, migraine and chronic daily headache, pediatric mental health issues, sports injuries, brain tumors, persistent diarrhea, adolescent hypertension, childhood depression, sudden death in athletes, and pediatric resuscitation. Speakers hail from Mayo Clinic and Sanford Health and the event is sponsored in part from a generous gift from T Denny Sanford. Presentations will include twenty-minute interactive presentations with five minutes discussion to follow, two thirty-minute poster session of 30 minutes in length featuring joint research efforts at the two institutions, and a luncheon lecture:50 minutes in length with 10 minutes discussion to follow. The program will include pre- and post-testing with audience response as well as post-course follow-up to enable incorporation of learning into practice.

Pediatric Cardiology 2010 Board Review Course
August 29 - September 3, 2010
The 2010 Pediatric Cardiology Board Review Course will be a comprehensive, state-ofthe-art review of all aspects of pediatric cardiology. Nationally-recognized experts in the fields of Pediatric Cardiology, Adult Congenital Heart Disease, Critical Care, and Cardiovascular Surgery, will provide in-depth lectures and case presentations that cover the entire subspecialty content important to the candidate for certification in Pediatric
Cardiology. A board format question and answer session will be held each evening to review the daily course content and hone the participant’s skills in test taking. In addition, interactive pre- and post-conference mini-symposia are also planned in Electrophysiology and Exercise Physiology. Although this course is designed to prepare the pediatric cardiology subspecialist for board certification / re-certification, it will also provide the pediatric cardiologist, adult cardiologist, or practicing primary care practitioner with a comprehensive update on the most up-to-date knowledge and scientific advances in our field.

26th Annual Echocardiography in Pediatric and Adult Congenital Heart Disease
October 10 - 13, 2010
The 26th Annual Echocardiography in Pediatric and Adult Congenital Heart Disease Symposium will focus on the basics of recognizing, understanding, and imaging patients with congenital heart disease. This year special attention will be placed on the evaluation of the patient that has had previous surgical procedure for their congenital cardiac malformation. This four-day symposium is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the anatomy, clinical aspects, imaging, and management of patients with congenital heart disease. The symposium will have a distinguished faculty of pediatric and adult congenital cardiologists, cardiac pathologists, and surgeons with expertise in treatment, diagnosis, and management of patients with congenital heart disease. The symposium will consist of lectures, video examples, workshops, and panel discussions.
