Learning Objectives
Upon conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:
- Distinguish between primary headache disorders and secondary headaches symptomatic of
other diseases
- Differentiate episodic and chronic headache disorders to formulate accurate diagnoses
and develop appropriate treatment plans
- Formulate treatment plans for headache disorders frequently encountered in
outpatient and inpatient practice
- Identify signs and symptoms of sports-related concussion including headache
- Apply techniques for the administration of botulinum toxin injections and nerve
blocks in migraine and other headache disorders
- Recognize potential interactions and contraindications associated with medications
used for the treatment of headaches
- Apply AAN guidelines regarding appropriate medication choices for the acute and
preventative treatment of migraines
