Learning Objectives
Upon conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:
- Identify modifiable stroke risk factors of hypertension, hyperglycemia and hyperlipidemia, and when controlled, how these lead to stroke prevention.
- Predict the impact of thrombolytic therapy in less than 3 hours, as well as up to 4.5 hours on improving patient outcomes as compared to placebo.
- Describe other causes of stroke, and how to manage them (e.g. intracerebral hemorrhage, subarachnoid hemorrhage and cerebral vein thrombosis).
- Define the basics of study design: What an odds ratio means, as well as a p value.
