Pre-Course Workshop: Hitting the Mark with Bedside Nursing in Stroke Care — Friday, Oct. 1, 2010, 8:00 – 12:00 p.m.
This pre-course workshop for nurses and administrators will focus on the care of stroke patients, specifically assessments, education and research. Learning objectives include: secondary prevention of stroke, patient education on stroke, interdisciplinary care of stroke patients (early rehabilitation), meeting the objectives of the Joint Commission as a primary stroke center and the benefits of being a Certified Neuroscience Registered Nurse (C.N.R.N.). To enhance the learning experience, a 30-minute Question & Answer session will follow the presentations.

The Doctor is In
An innovative offering at this course that we feel will enhance the educational experience of the attendees is called "The Doctor is In." This is a pre-scheduled time for course participants to have an opportunity to ask additional questions of the faculty. Once the main Question & Answer session is completed, the moderator will ask the speakers to move to the "Doctor is In" area outside of the conference room for additional questions and dialogue.
