Campus Highlights
Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, Ariz., opened in 1987 as a premier academic medical center in the southwestern United States where medical research and education are fully integrated with delivering the highest-quality patient care.

In Scottsdale, Mayo Clinic offers services in more than 66 specialty and surgical disciplines, including programs in cancer treatment and organ transplantation. The highly advanced Mayo Clinic Hospital in northeast Phoenix opened in 1998 and is the first hospital entirely designed and built by Mayo Clinic. Since opening in 1987, Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale has become a multicampus system that also includes the Samuel C. Johnson Research Building and several primary care outpatient centers.

Patients

Since opening in June 1987, Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale has provided medical care for more than 600,000 patients from 50 states and several countries.

Facilities

  • The five-story outpatient clinic contains 240 exam rooms, an outpatient surgery center equipped for general anesthesia, a full-service laboratory, a pharmacy, a patient-education library, an endoscopy suite, a 188-seat auditorium for patient- and physician-education programs and a multilevel parking garage.
  • A basic-science research laboratory, the Samuel C. Johnson Medical Research Building is located on the campus.
  • A concourse level offers amenities and services to patients, such as a gift shop and a lounge area with TVs, telephones and vending machines.
  • A 124-room hotel, Courtyard by Marriott, is located on the Clinic campus.
  • Mayo Clinic Hospital is located at 56th Street and Mayo Boulevard (north of Bell Road) in northeast Phoenix. Mayo Clinic patients who require hospitalization are admitted to Mayo Clinic Hospital and cared for by Mayo Clinic physicians. The five-story facility has 205 licensed beds and full emergency room/urgent care services.
