Research at Mayo

The Mayo CultureMayo School of Continuing Medical Education (MSCME) is an integral part of Mayo Clinic, the country's largest private group practice. Mayo Clinic is a charitable, not-for-profit organization with practices in Jacksonville, Fla., Rochester, Minn., and Scottsdale, Ariz.

  • The mission of Mayo Clinic is to provide the best care to every patient every day through integrated clinical practice, education and research.
  • Our primary value - the needs of the patient come first - ensures that all patients receive the same excellent care and are treated with the greatest respect, compassion and confidentiality.

Mayo Clinic is renowned nationally and internationally for the diagnosis and treatment of complex medical problems. For many patients, coming to Mayo may represent their best option or only hope.

While Mayo is famous for treating rare medical problems, it also serves the everyday health-care needs of patients throughout the local communities and regions surrounding its practices.

The Mayo Culture
At Mayo, staff, faculty and students strive to serve patients, families and one another with respect, concern, courtesy and responsiveness.

A climate that nurtures and supports the fullest contributions of everyone is essential to Mayo Clinic's success in patient care, education and research. Creating and sustaining this climate are the responsibilities of all who provide service and learn at Mayo Clinic.

Mayo Clinic also values and promotes individual and cultural diversity. We define diversity as all the characteristics that distinguish individuals or groups from one another. It includes distinctions based on race, color, creed, religion, gender, age, national origin, marital status, sexual orientation, veteran's status, disability, or status with regard to public assistance.
