Upon conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:
- Cite relevant recent literature as it pertains to inpatient care
- Select the most appropriate anticoagulant medication for patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation or VTE
- Manage patients with severe bleeding who are on the newer anticoagulant medications
- Explain how to bridge patients who need to come off the newer anticoagulation medications
- Review methods of noninvasive ventilation strategies
- Identify mimickers of cellulitis
- Utilize a more thoughtful approach to breaking bad news
- Determine the appropriate treatment for Clostridium difficile infection
- Describe the care of patients with oncologic emergencies
- Summarize current, evidence-based approaches to common inpatient conditions
