Learning Objectives
Upon conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:
- Describe ethical foundations of appropriate ICU care.
- Describe the critical elements of effective critical care provider-family communication.
- Identify practical applications of communication and utilization of palliative care to prevent critical care "futility" issues.
- Differentiate the two accepted pathways to organ donation.
- Articulate ethical issues particular to Pediatric ICU.
- Discuss issues of justice that arise in critical care practice.
