Upon conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:
- Develop a brief, effective history and exam for incontinence, and select appropriate treatment options
- Describe new treatments available for prostate cancer
- Discuss risk factors, prevention strategies, and recent treatment developments for age-related macular degeneration
- Formulate goals and effective management strategies for patients with end-stage renal failure
- Appraise current PSA testing guidelines; utilize available evidence in counseling men on PSA testing
- Identify depression in the elderly and apply effective management strategies
- Describe the diagnostic features of dementia with Lewy bodies and discuss management
- Differentiate essential tremor from other tremor conditions and select appropriate treatments
- Formulate effective prescribing practices for elderly patients in the community and nursing home settings; recognize potentially inappropriate medications for the elderly and choose safe alternatives
