Mayo Clinic Cancer Center: Thoracic Oncology for the Oncologist: State of the Art Evaluation and Management of Thoracic Cancers

Thoracic malignancies represent the leading cause of cancer death in the United States. This continuing medical education activity will focus on recent developments in medical, surgical, radiation and medical oncologic care of patients with malignancies of the chest. A special scientific mini-symposium within the activity will focus on novel developments in molecular pathways of carcinogenesis and immunobiology. Important clinical advances and clinical trials including surgical, medical, radiation and palliative management will be presented by a distinguished faculty. This program is designed for medical oncologists, surgeons, radiation oncologists, internists, pulmonologists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants and any healthcare professionals engaged in evaluation and care of patients with thoracic cancers. Challenging Case Presentations: Attendees are invited to submit an example of a "challenging case" scenario for possible discussion by the panel and attendees. All cases will be reviewed by the course directors for inclusion as they relate to current topics in the treatment and management of Lung and Esophageal cancers.
