This course updates physicians practicing in gastroenterology and hepatology and other health care providers on new approaches to the diagnosis and management of gastrointestinal and liver diseases. Faculty present data on multiple topics, including inflammatory bowel disease, colorectal cancer, general GI, motility and nutrition, pancreaticobiliary disorders, endoscopy, and hepatology. Controversies in diagnosis and management will be analyzed in discussions and breakout sessions. Complex endoscopy cases and cutting-edge technology will be presented by expert endoscopists in a video forum.
In addition, two optional educational activities are offered. A review course to help GI physicians prepare for board recertification is held Thursday afternoon. On Saturday afternoon, new endoscopic techniques are featured at a hands-on endoscopy workshop using state-of-the-art technology.
An audience response system and social media (e.g., Twitter) are utilized for interactive learning by the participants.
All general sessions are available via webcast for participants who are unable to attend the course.
