Mayo Clinic Tutorials in Diagnostic Radiology is a postgraduate course designed to update the diagnostic radiologist in new trends, relevant techniques, and applications in diagnostic imaging. The latest advances will be emphasized and related to common problems encountered in clinical practice A significant portion of the course material will be in a case-based, interactive format to allow a different approach to postgraduate education in diagnostic radiology. Ethical Dilemmas Throughout the Medical Spectrum
February 6 - 8, 2008
This course will focus on practical ethical issues encountered in various specialties including (but not limited to) surgery, pediatrics, obstetrics, psychiatry, radiology, and nursing which may be somewhat unique to that specific discipline, and thus neglected in more general ethics courses, with the goal of providing caregivers with useful tools for resolving clinical ethical dilemmas. The presenters will provide concise and thorough overviews of the issues, and conclude with practical suggestions for addressing ethical dilemmas. There will be ample time after each presentation for questions and discussion.
This course is offered in cooperation with Mayo Continuing Nursing Education.
NOTE: The 2009 Ethics Course, "Justice and Medicine," will be held February 11-13, 2009, in Rochester, MN.
