Learning Objectives

Upon conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:

  • Recognize the difference between sinus headaches and other types of headaches
  • Differentiate between various types of vertigo and discuss their management
  • Identify patients with benign paroxysmal positional vertigo and apply canalith repositioning maneuvers
  • Identify and treat several common ear conditions
  • Evaluate the lump in the neck
  • Identify, evaluate and treat the patient with nasal airway obstruction
  • Identify, evaluate and treat the patient with sinusitis or rhinitis
  • Demonstrate the various physical exam techniques used in the ear, nose and throat exam
  • Identify the patient who may benefit from hearing amplification and discuss current hearing aid technology
  • Give examples of pediatric ear, nose and throat emergencies and discuss which ones need action now or later
