The purpose of the symposium is to bring together experts in the field of autoimmune rheumatic diseases and cardiovascular disease to explore the common pathophysiology of these inflammatory diseases affecting the heart and major blood vessels, and to review and develop strategies for management of CVD in these patients, focussing on rheumatoid arthritis.
