This is a premier educational venue for echocardiography in clinical practice. The program is held collaboratively with the University of Chicago Medical Center. The program accommodates the evolving needs of inquisitive attendees. Topics covered include fundamentals of cardiovascular ultrasound, basic and advanced hemodynamics, 3-D echocardiography, endocardial/pericardial disease, ischemic heart disease, vascular health, contrast, heart failure, diastolic function, new technologies, and valvular heart disease. At no additional charge, special workshops offer focused topics of interest to general and specialty participants. These workshops encourage one-on-one interaction. An audience response system facilitates immediate feedback. The format provides access to faculty members. While clinical applications using new technology are introduced; there is no hands-on experience provided. Self-assessment questions are offered to gauge outcomes.
