This symposium is an intensive and comprehensive review of state-of-the-art echocardiography to a wide variety of cardiovascular disorders, with an emphasis on introduction of new technologies and use of echocardiographic information for the care of patients. The central location and presentation schedule allow participants to balance the educational aspects of the program with a summertime family vacation in the beautiful Rocky Mountains. This symposium stresses the integration of all echocardiography techniques into the comprehensive ultrasound examination. Particular emphasis includes new technologies, Doppler hemodynamics, tissue Doppler, diastology, transesophageal echocardiography, and heart failure (myocardial and pericardial disease).
