Echocardiography in the Nation’s Capital: Focus on the Sonographer is designed to provide the cardiac sonographer with practical echocardiography information in the evaluation of cardiac anatomy, function and hemodynamics in diagnosing and evaluating heart disease. A practical review of the current uses and limitations of two-dimensional, Doppler and color flow imaging in the assessment of adult myocardial, ischemic, pericardial and valvular disease. Recent advances in the field of echocardiography including the assessment of systolic and diastolic function, quantitative Doppler, and stress echocardiography will be presented.
