This symposium is an intensive and comprehensive review of state-of-the-art echocardiography in a wide variety of cardiovascular disorders. There is an emphasis on introduction of new technologies and how to apply echocardiographic information in patient care. The central location and presentation schedule allow participants to balance the educational aspects of the program with a summertime family vacation in the beautiful Rocky Mountains. This symposium stresses the integration of all echocardiography techniques into the comprehensive ultrasound examination. Particular emphasis will include new technologies, Doppler hemodynamics, tissue Doppler, diastology, transesophageal echocardiography, and heart failure (myocardial and pericardial disease). This session addresses the importance of comprehensive echocardiographic acquisition and management decision based on echocardiographic data.
