Mayo Cardiovascular Review Course for Cardiology Boards and Recertification; Pre-Course Session - Echo Focus

Learning Objectives

Upon conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:

  • Interpret EKG and EP tracings
  • Evaluate the patient with adult congenital heart disease
  • Interpret echocardiographic images
  • Analyze hemodynamic catheterization traces
  • Apply basic cardiovascular physiology to patient care
  • Diagnose and treat the patient with acute coronary symptoms
  • Evaluate the patient with heart failure

Pre-Course Session - Echo Focus Objectives

At the conclusion of this session, the participants should be able to:

  • Utilize Echo and Doppler information for management of patients with various cardiovascular conditions.
  • Identify new echocardiographic modalities for clinical use such as tissue Doppler and strain imaging.
  • Recognize common and unusual cardiovascular conditions confidently by echocardiography.
