Mayo Clinic International Vascular Symposium
June 27 - 30, 2009

The purpose of this conference is to provide an overview of the current issues in peripheral vascular disease to the vascular practitioner/specialist through didactic and interactive segments with inclusion of scientific sessions. This conference will highlight the multidisciplinary approach to vascular disease, including vascular surgery, vascular medicine, interventional radiology, and cardiology. This conference is expected to attract international vascular disease specialists, in addition to nurse and allied health care providers interested in peripheral vascular disease. This meeting will include interactive sessions with review of Mayo and European guidelines of arterial and venous disease evaluation and management. Abstracts for poster and oral presentations pertinent to vascular disease will also be included.

23rd Annual Echocardiographic Symposium at Vail. New Technologies, Live Scanning, and Clinical Decision Making...
August 9 - 13, 2009

This four-day symposium is an intensive and comprehensive review of state-of-the-art echocardiography to a wide variety of cardiovascular disorders and will have an emphasis on introduction of new technologies and how to use echocardiographic information for the care of our patients. The central location and presentation schedule are intended to allow the participants to balance the educational aspects of the program with a summertime family vacation in the beautiful Rocky Mountains. This symposium will stress the integration of all echocardiography techniques into the comprehensive ultrasound examination. Particular emphasis will include new technologies, Doppler hemodynamics, tissue Doppler, diastology, transesophageal echocardiography, and heart failure (myocardial and pericardial disease) including cardiac resynchronization therapy. There will be live scanning of patients with various CV disorders, which will be coordinated with Doctor Lawrence W. Gaul of the Vail Clinic. This session will emphasize the importance of comprehensive echocardiographic acquisition and management decision based on echocardiographic data.

There will be ample time each afternoon for the participant to enjoy a multitude of summertime activities in this picturesque and relaxing environment.

Teaching Material A syllabus with lecture summaries and selective reprints will be available to each registered participant along with separate handouts for the workshop sessions on basic and advanced Doppler hemodynamics will be supplied to each registrant.

Pulmonary Hypertension Update 2009

It will enable the clinician to make an accurate diagnosis and determine the best treatment option for the patient.
