COURSE DESCRIPTION

This one day course will focus on the role of blood and marrow transplantation (BMT) in treating patients with hematologic malignancies. In an era when new therapies for these diseases are becoming more readily available, it is ever more crucial that caregivers understand when, in the course of their disease, patients should be referred for BMT. Topics will also include the use of stem cell transplantation (SCT) when treating hematologic malignancies, immune recovery and immunotherapy for patients following BMT, and the role of BMT.
