Mayo Clinic has an exceptional history of innovation, including the creation of the world's first integrated, coordinated medical group practice that relies on the combined expertise of teams of medical specialists to provide the best possible patient care.

This model and many other innovations developed at Mayo have been utilized by health care organizations across the globe to improve health care delivery. Mayo Clinic leadership, recognizing the need to continue innovating and transforming health care in the 21st century, launched the Center for Innovation in June 2008. The center's goal is to transform the experience and delivery of health care and to foster a culture of competency of innovation.

Like a giant incubator, the center offers a unique space within Mayo Clinic for nurturing new ideas, enabling them to grow, mature and evolve until they are ready for patients.
