What We Do
Today, business evolves at a rapid pace. Innovation is more critical than ever. Health care is not an exception. Over the last 60 years there have been significant advances in medicine and there is clearly an opportunity to do more ... much more.
Mayo Clinic has an exceptional history of innovation, including the creation of the world's first integrated, coordinated medical group practice that relies on the combined expertise of teams of medical specialists to provide the best possible patient care.
This model and many other innovations developed at Mayo have been utilized by health care organizations across the globe to improve health care delivery. Mayo Clinic leadership, recognizing the need to continue innovating and transforming health care in the 21st century, launched the Center for Innovation in June 2008. The center's goal is to transform the experience and delivery of health care and to foster a culture of competency of innovation.
Like a giant incubator, the center offers a unique space within Mayo Clinic for nurturing new ideas, enabling them to grow, mature and evolve until they are ready for patients.
Mayo is percolating many types of innovation to develop what we will be doing tomorrow, and to identify ways to do better what we do today. Learn more about the center's mission, goals, methodology and approach.
