Drop-In CenterThe BIR Facilities are available to Mayo and extramural scientists to conduct biomedical imaging research through collaboration with the BIR staff.
Drop-In Center
The drop-in center provides the researcher with access to multiple
modern UNIX workstations as well as to high performance personal
computers and peripheral equipment (printers, scanners, etc.).
Demonstration
Area
The demonstration area provides a comfortable viewing area and a set
of fully equipped advanced workstations for demonstrating the latest
image processing software and for presenting research projects to small
groups
Conference
Room
The
BIR also provides a workstation equipped conference room which is
available for lectures, meetings, conferences and demonstrations.
Video ProductionFacility
The
BIR video production facility is capable of producing computer
generated movies and high resolution color animations incorporating
medical images, graphics, text, sound and/or special effects. The
facility is also available for the production of scientific and
educational training/instruction/demonstration videotapes, slides and
color prints.
File Servers
The
BIR provides hundreds of gigabytes of storage for digital research
images, accessible through NFS to UNIX, Windows, and Macintosh
workstations.
Compute Server
The
BIR offers a high performance compute server for advanced image
processing and analysis.
