This unique resource at Mayo Clinic has two separate major components, which function both independently and in a integrated way through optimal synergistic sharing of space, equipment and personnel.  These two major components are

• advanced research laboratory
• core service facility 

The research lab has a long history of both basic and translational research in biomedical imaging science and technology with emphasis on advanced software development and dissemination.  The core facility has also evolved over many years and provides expertise in a variety of consultative, technical and contractual services related to imaging technology and applications to a multi-disciplinary user community.
