- Students experience the Mayo Model of Care firsthand while shadowing physicians engaged in research and patient care activities.
- Program participants can follow the routine of a Mayo Medical School student, from the classroom, to the laboratory, to a clinical rotation.
- During case study presentations, Mayo Clinic residents, fellows or consultants share real-life experiences through the case method, which exposes students to actual medical scenarios and strengthens a student’s ability to identify underlying concepts.
- Formal presentations address topics such as:
- Professionalism
- Health Care Systems
- The Mayo Model of Care
- Health Care of the Future
- Small-group sessions engage program participants in lively discussions regarding topics of special interest to premedical students. These sessions are facilitated by Mayo Medical School faculty and medical students.
